Ed L. Robins, ChFC®, CLU®

Ed L. Robins is a Managing Principal in JT Stratford’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina, office.
Ed entered the financial services industry in 1981. Early in his career, he developed a passion for serving clients' total needs through comprehensive financial planning. His focus has always been on helping clients achieve their lifetime goals while building long-term, trusted relationships.
He serves two primary client groups. First, he advises rising professionals who lead fast-paced lives. These clients often juggle raising children, transitioning homes, advancing in their careers, and caring for aging parents—all while planning for education costs, retirement, estate needs, and tax minimization. Second, he works with clients 5 to 10 years from retirement and through retirement, guiding them through cash flow management, tax strategies, asset distribution, estate planning, and charitable giving. His goal is to empower all clients to "live their best lives."
A native of Winston-Salem, Ed is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds both the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. He is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals and the Financial Services Institute.
Ed was a partner at Colhoun, Robins, Davenport from 1997 until its recent merger with JT Stratford.
Ed has been married for 41 years and has two married daughters and one grandson. He is an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem, where he has served in numerous leadership roles. He has volunteered and served on the boards of several community organizations, focusing on supporting those less fortunate and providing educational opportunities for children. In his free time, Ed enjoys giving back, traveling, relaxing with his family, sports, and most forms of exercise—especially running.
